Instrument Interfacing means interconnecting laboratory analyzers to the laboratory information management system (LIMS). PathoGold provides this instrument interfacing for almost all instruments and makes the work much smoother.
If you do not interface instruments, there may be a higher chances of manual error entry. The manual entering of data is prone to typing errors as well as it takes more time and effort. By interfacing, time is saved, and productivity is increased.

ABOUT INSTRUMENT INTERFACING
With the help of Instrument Interfacing, your analyzer data comes to the software automatically. You can edit those data easily. No mistakes can happen. You can run multiple samples on the analyzer because data is inserted automatically into the Lab software.
In Unidirectional Interfacing, Analyzer does not read any patient data from the lab software, it cannot read BARCODED vials, this is called Unidirectional Interfacing.
In Bidirectional Interfacing, the Analyzer can read BARCODED vials. Once the vial barcode is read, it sends a signal to the Lab software to perform the test, Lab software sends a signal to the Analyzer to perform
The test is defined. The analyzer processes the test and data automatically get transferred to Lab software. All this process happens automatically without any human intervention.
All instruments are default Unidirectional. Those which can read Barcoded Vials automatically are called Bidirectional Instruments.
No, if you want to do Bidirectional Interfacing then yes, you need Barcode Printer, otherwise not. Also, If you have prebarcoded vials, then you do not need a barcode printer.
Almost all, we have 500+ analyzers interfacing is available with us. Check the List of Instrument Interfacing above. If you do not find your instrument in the list, no problem, we can interface it very easily.
Those instruments in which multiple parameters are coming out (ex. Hematology Analyzers for Hemogram), must be interfaced. If one-two parameter is coming out of the instrument, then you can manually type those values in Lab software easily, there you should not interface it. Also, if you have a large no of tests performed on any instrument, then you must interface it.
